Happy Tuesday and welcome to another fun challenge with Paper Crafting World. Today's challenge is to use purple with flowers. Now, before I get to my project, I would like to send a shout out to Celeste and Yolie whose last DT post is today. We'll miss you ladies and your marvelous creations. For your viewing pleasure today, I have created a card that I later decided would be the perfect sympathy card for a lady at work whose father recently passed. I've just started collecting Copic markers and don't have a lot to choose from so this card was mostly created using my Bic Mark-its. It is true that to truly master something one must practice. I have not mastered coloring but I can tell I'm getting better.

Today I'm featuring the "Amazing You" and the "Scripture Sayings" on a door hanger that I created for Kristal. The fun part about this is, this it the first time that I used UTEE to create "glass" flowers. I stamped a scripture on it and then went to town with UTEE. The dew drops are homemade. They are actually green but it's difficult to tell on the pink background.

You will create 5 identical pages that include the required elements which are embossing (dry or heated), bling, glitter and trim. We will be using the February color palette to complete this swap.

History in My Lifetime

Happy Saturday and welcome to the History in My Lifetime blog hop. If you came from Vicki's blog you are in the right place. If not, please start with Jaime who is the beginning.

Today we're sharing projects that center around a special event that occurred during our lifetime. I immediately thought of the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, GA. I was blessed to be a Medical Runner at the Aquatic Center. It was a job of a lifetime. I really enjoyed myself.

Here is a shadow box that I altered to hold the lapel pins I traded while I was there. Because of my job, I was allowed to interact with dignitaries from all around the world. While there I was able to meet and take a picture with Hilary Clinton and Greg Norman. Hopefully I can create my other project and post it tomorrow.

Today I pay tribute to the one who has us coming back for more EVERY TIME! Ms. Piggy! This is a one sided card/plaque/sign that I created. Now I know Piggy usually is a little pudgy, but just like EVERYONE else that got on Weight Watchers, Piggy had to get in on the action. Doesn't she look good? Don't tell her though. It'll go to her head which is ALREADY big enough! I hope you enjoy.

It’s swap time again. LET'S GET TO SWAPPING!! Let me start by introducing Shalana Glass AKA the new Sign Up Director for Scrappin Sista Monthly Swaps. Her role will be to coordinate all swap sign ups. Please read through all the details and if you are SERIOUSLY interested, please email her at nonchalantaka@yahoo.com to express your commitment to the Swap. The swap will be limited to the first 20 participants who sign up. If we have an overwhelming response to this swap we will look to form a second group.

For the month of January we are hosting an Altered Journal with a Stick Pin Swap. This will be a 1 to 1 Swap meaning you will be paired with a Swap partner creating one Altered Journal with a Stick Pin. Something new we will be doing this year is incorporating the use of color palettes from wwww.design-seeds.com. The color scheme we will be using for the January Swap is pictured below.

Hey everyone! Just need to share a last minute challenge card that Letillia from Diva of 5 and I took on tonight. We challenged ourselves to drop EVERYTHING and create a card to enter in challenges. I have been very slack and sometimes overwelmed. I started crafting for FUN and I want it to stay that way. That's why doing this was so important and fun. So, here's my creation that we gave each the about an hour to complete. CCR DT Post - Animal Time

Welcome back to another challenge with the CCR! We know how busy this time of the year is for everyone so we made sure to make these next few challenges super fun and super easy! We hope you will play along!

We challenge you to create a new project for any theme that includes an animal!

For your inspiration today, I've created two different projects. The first is a two-page layout that I created for an album that I am creating for my youngest son for Christmas. Dad decided to buy him a monster truck that he had to put together. I snapped a bunch of pictures and will put them in this layout.

My second project is a card that I used by combining an image from Paper Crafting World and K. Andrew's stamps. It's a tri-fold card that is super easy to create. I just LOVE this penguin. The sentiments are a combination of several stamps sets from K. Andrews. I love that her stamps make it so easy to combine them and create the perfect sentiment.

I would like to share this song with you. I have so many things to be thankful for this year alone. Through all the drama and trauma, I'm still standing. God has been SO GOOD to me despite me! So, I pray that through all the turkey, family, shopping, football, and anything else that may try to distract us, that you stopped to tell the Lord thank you! If you didn't, it's still not too late. He's so worthy of our praise. One things that has been floating around on Facebook has been, What if we woke up tomorrow with only the things that we thanked God for?

For my project today, I'd like to share some cards I made for a friend whose father retired as the Senior Pastor of their church after many years of service. These cards were for her mother and the ladies who worked tirelessly to make sure that the Pastor knew how much the congregation appreciated him. I really enjoyed making these cards.

CAC Thankful Thursday DT Share - No Challenge

Happy Thursday and Happy Turkey Leg!!! Today would normally be the start of a challenge with the Thankful Thursday Design Team but we wanted to take this time to share what we are thankful for.

I have to start by saying that I am thankful for quite a lot. LIfe has been EXTREMELY difficult lately but I'm still standing. I'm thankful that God loves me and because He loves me, He sent His Son to redeem me. Without Him, I don't know where I would be.

I'm thankful for my family. They are gift from God and I'll take the good with the bad. It's made me who I am today. And to tell the truth, when I look back on the bad, some of that mess is just plain funny now.

I'm also thankful for the creative ability that God has given me. I enjoy making creations and exploring various creative arts. This is truly a joy for me and brings calm to my crazy world. I'm so very thankful for the beautiful craft friends that I've met through this Blog/Facebook world. I'm hoping to one day meet you guys but if I never do, please know that I'm blessed to have you in my life. Special hugs and kisses go out to my DT leaders - Jenny, Melinda, Kristal, and Cathy. You all are a special blessing.

Now, in the last two years, we have been through a lot of transitions. We've moved quite a few times. I have four children and adjusting can be difficult but I thank God that He protects and provides. My second oldest is EXTREMELY shy/quiet. I am concerned sometimes that she won't make friends or will never feel settled with all the moving that we do. Well...she shut my mouth Tuesday night. She came in and told me her "BFF" is having a birthday tomorrow and that she wanted a card for her. I was so thankful that she made a connection with someone that I stayed up until the wee hours making something special for this child. It did my heart good!

December Swap Sign-Ups Open

It’s swap time again. WOOT! WOOT! Please read through all the details and if you are seriously interested, please email me. I am starting early as December is usually anEXTREMELY busy time for us all. December’sswap is two-fold. I am hosting a Wintercut swap and it will be open to the first 20 participants unless I receiveseveral requests for participation. In that case, I will form a secondgroup. The second part is a 8x8 layout swap for 2012. Please do not sign-up unless you know thatyou will be able to fulfill your commitment. Sign up will begin now and go until November23 or until 20 participants have signed up.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

You will have the choice of participating inone or both swaps for the month of December.

Part A ~ This month you will cut usingscissors, Cricut, E-craft, Slice, Big Shot or any other method you choose and fully decorate winter images. I will include a few links to examples.

Part B ~ These swappers will select a monthand create 12 identical 8x8 layouts with at least 2 spots for pictures and 1spot for journaling.

Further details will be mailed to you in a confirmation email. Again, to sign-up, please send an emailto askscrappinsista (at) hotmail(dot) com. Put "December Swap" in the subject lineas well as cut, layout, or both. Remove the parenthesis and spaces.

DEADLINE:

DTC Guest Designer

Happy Wednesday! It's a wonderful day to be alive.

I'm so excited to be a guest designer for Amy and Rhonda of Decorate to Celebrate!

Decorate to Celebrate is all about parties. Their goal is to encourage and inspire others to find new ways to create handmade decorations and party supplies.

All this month, the theme is BIRTHDAY PARTY! They are looking for ANYTHING related to birthday parties. That includes any decoration, party supply, and for this month only a card or layout with a birthday theme. You are welcome to use any tools or supplies that you would like to complete the challenge. And remember, you are not limited to just paper.

Because my daughter's birthday is coming up and she's a tweener...I decided to start looking for party STUFF that would fit her age group. While perusing my craft books, I came across this idea for a lip gloss favor. I will post the name of the book a little later. (Oh boy...I hope I remember to do that. LOL!!!) I think it's just the cutest thing in the world. Let me tell you, it took less than 10 minutes to complete once I got the design fully laid out in my head. I have a few details under the picture.

Paper Crafting World - Something From Your Stash

Happy Tuesday! We have another exciting challenge for you and it's all about recyling or using what is in your stash in honor. Today is "National Recycle Day"...so let's try to use something that we have in our stash or that we have used before and can "recycle" into something new.

Here is my project. It's a Post-it note holder. I recycled cereal boxes for cardstock. I covered it with paper that I was given quite awhile back. The digi is one of Melin's that I started coloring almost a year ago and never finished.
